The Estimator is responsible for being an organized, service-orientated individual to provide support to our sales staff with project quotes and pricing. The estimator will prepare a bill of material and cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements. This position will be responsible for communicating with a variety of departments, vendors, employees, and customers to ensure estimates are completed on time and appropriate paperwork is completed as per company and Customer specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
    • Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
    • If necessary, will visit Customer Site for job walk.
  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements based on the documents provided. Create bill of materials (BOM), order materials and approving all material invoices.
    • Computes costs by analyzing the labor, material, and time requirements.
    • Requesting quotes for equipment and Power components from supplier
    • Perform Takeoffs and estimates for work position is quoting.
    • Create proposals and regularly following up on prepared bids.
  • Coordinating work with Sales staff, project managers and General Manager.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and industry publications.
  • Contributes to team effort by meeting company and Customer expectations.
  • All work and decisions shall be conducted in strict compliance with all regulatory law.
  • Observe all safety rules and Best Practices; Follow all company policies and procedures.

Required Experience and Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in related field or experience equivalency and a minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • Ability to read and understand complex blueprints, schematics, parts lists, and additional technical materials for troubleshooting circuit breakers and electrical power equipment.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and peers.
  • Dependable and responsible with good judgment and organizational skills.
  • Good customer service, time management and follow-up skills.
  • Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates.
  • Able to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
