The Position:

As an Electrical Designer, you will design and develop electrical systems for various projects, ensuring their functionality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate closely with engineers and other stakeholders to analyze project requirements, identify design constraints, and propose innovative solutions to optimize electrical system performance. You will be responsible for creating detailed electrical schematics, diagrams, and layouts using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Your expertise in electrical design principles, codes, and regulations will be essential in selecting appropriate components and equipment, such as transformers, motors, circuit breakers, and control panels.

Position Responsibilities:

All Levels

  • Provide computer aided design (CAD) drafting, and prepare drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, vendor data, and sketches
  • Coordinate and consult with engineers or other designers to complete projects, ensuring adherence to established specifications and standards
  • Support equipment sizing & selection, alternative analyses, and other deliverables
  • Support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities
  • Present design deliverables to project members, cross-functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Plan, forecast, and actualize deliverable progress to support project reporting and schedule requirements
  • Identify scope changes and estimate impact to effort and schedule
  • Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature
  • Prepare, review, and approve electrical equipment, conduit, and wiring BOMs and designs

Level IV

  • Support proposal efforts by evaluating RFP scope, identifying list of deliverables, and estimating effort required
  • Participate in project scoping, planning, status reporting, and scope management
  • Work is highly independent

Level V

  • All responsibilities of level IV
  • Monitor progress and performance against the project plan and proactively address issues
  • Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility
  • Work Autonomously

Qualifications:

  • 4 - 7+ years experience, depending on the level of the position
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree or equivalent preferred
  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and 3D CAD experience required
