Job description

Job Summary

The Electrical Supervisor plays a critical role in the day-to-day electrical and instrumentation supervision of hourly mechanics to meet goals safely and effectively, in accordance with company policies and all regulatory and corporate compliance requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Acting as a leader in the support of the Safety Journey and the Company’s Goal of Achieving an Injury-Free Workplace. Driving continuous improvement in workplace safety by promptly addressing the root causes or near misses, conducting effective safety meetings, promptly addressing safety concerns raised by employees
  • Responsible for EHS, MOC, GMP, and Q.C. Compliance in department/shift
  • Conduct weekly safety and quality meetings
  • Responsible for Impacting Electrical and Instrument Equipment Uptime
  • Responsible for Impacting PM Compliance
  • Works closely with Production Supervisors and Operators for troubleshooting purposes and Project Engineers for new project design (i.e., Reliability in Design) and implementation.
  • Responsible for Managing Labor Efficiency
  • Responsible for People Development, Training, and Competencies
  • Responsible for Managing the Electrical Shop housekeeping
  • Accountable for High Voltage Distribution
  • Accountable for PLC maintenance (Troubleshooting & PM)
  • Accountable for Electrical & Instrumentation Services
  • Accountable for Electrical Motors troubleshooting
Qualifications – Required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years of supervisor experience in maintenance
  • 10 years of industrial electrical experience
Qualifications – Preferred
  • Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 5 years of supervisor experience
  • Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with instrumentation and controls
  • Previous experience with robots
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Lean Certification
  • SAP Experience
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
  • Normal working schedule is Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:00pm. Weekend and overtime may be required.
  • Works in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time.
  • May perform sustained manual activities at moderate to heavy levels of exertion including lifting and moving loads of a minimum of fifty (50) pounds, climbing ladders/stairs, and working on elevated platforms.
  • Works and travels throughout plant environment of varied temperatures and humidity.
  • Wears personal protective equipment as required and uses full range of motion.
  • Works in general office and manufacturing plant environments.
