PRINCIPAL ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Wire fluid delivery systems and associated electrical panels in accordance with the design parameters
  • Assist with the testing of these systems prior to customer delivery
  • Assist with the commissioning and operation of newly delivered systems
  • Build/assemble/wire electrical control panels
  • Wire pumps, motors, heaters, and devices
  • Assist engineering with the development of electrical one-line diagrams for new systems
  • Service, troubleshoot, and repair products in the field
  • Test instrumentation and record test data
  • Inspect parts to assure conformance to specification
  • Perform field inspections of failed parts and write reports to avoid future incidents
  • Maintain detailed records of daily activities
  • Provide input for updates of service manuals and bulletins
  • Provide technical assistance to other service personnel
  • Analyze technical data
  • Perform special projects that may involve other trades
  • Provide start-up service at customer site
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
  • Document and communicate daily work progress through service trip reports
  • Build positive relationships with customers
  • Provide training for technicians, engineers, and other stakeholders onsite
  • All other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Technical degree or certification
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 15% - 20% of time
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and/or wiring diagrams
  • Basic pipefitting skills
  • Capable of troubleshooting electrical circuits and equipment
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service, electrical, and pneumatic equipment
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to new technology and apply prior knowledge
  • Ability to safely use hand & power tools used in installation and maintenance environments
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to read engineering drawings, equipment layout, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • Understanding of fluid dynamics
  • Familiar with process controls. Specifically, the ability to review an existing system and understand its operation
  • Familiarity with PLC programing and controls a plus but not required


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. This position has a traditional work schedule that requires five (5) eight (8) hour working days, and a typical Monday through Friday work schedule.  Overtime is administered on an as needed basis as determined by the supervisor.
  • Shop floor duties will involve the use of standard tooling, being around light and heavy machinery, being exposed to noise, and will be required to follow standard manufacturing safety practices.
