Electrical Service Technician – Drive Regional Commercial & Industrial Field Operations


Job Overview:

  • Company: Gillespie Electric
  • Salary/Pay Rate: $33.00 – $40.00 per hour (Hourly)
  • Location: East Greenville, PA (100% field-based with 30% regional travel)
  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time
  • Schedule: Flexible field schedule with 24-hour emergency call rotation (7 day rotation) 
  • Project Scope: Commercial, Industrial, and Residential Troubleshooting & Field Service
  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: Valid Driver's License (Able to drive dual-axle vans and tow equipment) 


The Opportunity:

You will serve as a client-facing expert, independently solving complex electrical and control challenges across diverse commercial, industrial and residential sites. This role allows you to play an important part in daily operations, use advanced tools and technology, and represent a respected, family-oriented company.You will directly impact client satisfaction through expert troubleshooting, clear communication, and quality workmanship.


How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Perform independent troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, and system repairs across client facilities and residential locations.
  • Operate specialized equipment including bucket trucks, aerial lifts, excavation equipment and oversized service vans safely.
  • Represent the company professionally in customer-facing environments using provided company attire.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, single-line diagrams, and technical control specifications accurately.
  • Manage daily service calls using dedicated company technology including assigned laptops and iPads.
  • Participate in the 24-hour emergency response rotation to resolve critical customer outage issues.
  • Maintain clear, direct communication with clients and office staff to explain technical solutions and scope.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience in commercial, residential or industrial settings.
  • Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with electrical power tools, electrical panel installation, and completing small-scale electrical projects independently or with a small crew.
  • Must be insurable under the company’s insurance policy and remain continuously insurable throughout employment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field without direct supervision.
  • High school diploma or equivalent secondary education degree.
  • Proven experience safely operating large vehicles, towing equipment, and working from bucket trucks or lifts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored for direct client interaction.
  • Must pass background check 
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more


Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience in commercial, residential or industrial settings.
  • Completion of a formal Electrical Apprenticeship or Trade School Certification program.
  • Specialized experience in industrial electrical control systems and low-voltage controls.
  • Active OSHA certification or advanced safety credentials.
  • Experience with infrared (IR) scanning and electrical outlet testing. Familiarity with EV-charger installations or supporting EV-installation partners is also a plus.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT medical card).
  • Must be able to report to the assigned job site on time and maintain reliable attendance.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate of $33.00 to $40.00 per hour with weekly pay cycles.
