Duties, Responsibilities & Other
Electrical Technician 4 is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes. This role requires independent work capability, strong technical expertise, and the ability to support projects in residential, commercial, or industrial environments while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, equipment, and control systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical drawings, and specifications
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC, OSHA, and local jurisdiction requirements
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify electrical issues and implement repairs
  • Install and connect panels, transformers, motors, lighting systems, and control devices
  • Test electrical systems and continuity using appropriate testing instruments
  • Coordinate work with project managers, foremen, inspectors, and other trades
  • Supervise and provide guidance to apprentices when assigned
  • Document work performed, materials used, and any changes to plans
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and jobsite cleanliness
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and company policies

Specialized Experience Required:
  • Strong knowledge of electrical theory, circuitry, and code requirements
  • Ability to read technical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Specialized Experienced Preferred:
  • Experience in commercial or industrial electrical work
  • Experience with low-voltage systems, fire alarm, or control systems
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • CPR/First Aid training
  • Experience working on active construction sites

Qualifications
Education and/or Skills Required:
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program

Education and/or Skills Preferred:
  • Highschool Diploma/GED

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license (state or local, as applicable)
  • Ability to maintain required certifications.
