Senior Electrical Engineer – Digital Hardware (110-136K)

We have a fantastic opportunity available to join a cutting-edge DoD sensing technology manufacturer in the Syracuse area.

This is a Full Time – Direct Hire opportunity. Hybrid work schedule available.

Overview

  • Collaborate with a highly skilled, multidisciplinary engineering team developing next-generation products.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of advanced digital hardware for next-generation products.
  • Design multi-layer PCBs, develop schematics, and support board layout activities.
  • Architect and develop FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog on modern Xilinx platforms.
  • Perform hardware integration, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Design high-speed digital interfaces, data acquisition systems, digital signal processing (DSP), and communication architectures.
  • Develop Python and Bash scripts to automate engineering workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the entire product development lifecycle.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of digital hardware design experience.
  • Experience designing analog and digital circuits including FPGAs, microcontrollers, memory, and high-speed interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and similar lab equipment.
  • Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Preferred Experience
  • Altium Designer.
  • Xilinx Vivado.
  • RF Systems or Software Defined Radio (SDR).
  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
  • MATLAB, Python, and Linux.
  • Experience performing design reviews and providing technical leadership.
