Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer II works with the overall project team to design and document systems. Designs and drafts control systems for material handling solutions using AutoCAD Electrical. Drawing sets include device layout drawings, E-Stop zone drawings, control schematics, panel layouts, power distribution, parts procurement, and network and installation details.
Responsibilities
  • Works closely with project leads to design device layouts and schematic drawing sets based on project requirements
  • Designs system layouts, network layouts, and other installation details
  • Prepares schematics and panel layouts for control panel fabrication
  • Creates bills of material for panels
  • Coordinates ordering of field materials and panels
  • Prints, plots, and assembles drawing sets for electrician bids, stamping, and field installation
  • Identifies and implements automation tools within the department to improve efficiency
  • Updates drawings to "as-built" status at project completion
  • Follow and contribute to department processes and standards
  • Active participant in the team's overall objectives
  • Travels up to 20%

Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Associate's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or similar Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience designing industrial controls in a CAD environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abiliites Requirements
  • Knowledge of design of controls and controllers such as Rockwell/Allen-Bradley
  • Proficient with an electrical CAD design software; AutoCAD Electrical 2020+ preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical controls terminology
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 National Electric Code, NFPA 79, UL 508A and other electrical/safety standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented

  • Creative-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours
