Job description

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong system-level design and integration expertise? Join our engineering team at Mi-Jack Products as a Senior Electrical Engineer, Systems, where you'll play a key role in defining, developing, and supporting complex electrical control systems across industrial product lines. In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to establish system requirements, guide implementation, and ensure robust, compliant solutions.

What You'll Do:

• Define electrical system architectures and develop system-level requirements, including functional descriptions, interface definitions, and performance expectations for complex equipment
• Translate system requirements into clear design criteria for downstream teams, including power distribution, control panels, harnessing, and device integration
• Collaborate with CAD design teams by specifying layout intent, constraints, and system requirements (clearances, serviceability, environmental considerations), and reviewing deliverables for compliance to system intent
• Provide system-level guidance to controls/software teams by defining control strategies, I/O requirements, sequencing intent, and functional behavior, without direct code development
• Perform electrical analysis including load calculations, cable sizing, and application of derating factors to validate system performance against requirements
• Apply industry standards such as NEC and UL at the system level, ensuring designs meet compliance, safety, and regulatory expectations
• Support system integration, testing, and debugging activities, identifying and resolving issues across electrical, controls, and mechanical interfaces
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between system architecture, physical implementation, and functional performance
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for complex projects, including system descriptions, requirements, and design intent documentation
• Identify and drive improvements in system design, integration practices, and engineering processes to improve reliability and efficiency
• Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system-level issues across development, manufacturing, and field environments
What We're Looking For:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Experience designing and specifying electrical systems for complex equipment or industrial machinery
• Working knowledge of electrical CAD platforms (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) with the ability to define requirements and review outputs, rather than generate detailed drawings
• Experience defining controls requirements and interfacing with PLC/software development teams in an industrial environment
• Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards such as NEC and UL
• Experience performing electrical calculations including load analysis and cable sizing
• Demonstrated ability to support system integration, validation, and troubleshooting

Do You Have??
• Strong system-level thinking with the ability to translate functional requirements into implementable designs
• High degree of independence and ownership while working within defined system architectures
• Effective collaboration across engineering disciplines, with the ability to guide and influence without direct authority
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in system integration and troubleshooting
• Consistent delivery of high-quality work with attention to detail and adherence to standards
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines
• Proactive mindset with a focus on identifying and implementing improvements

Work Environment & Travel
