As an Electric Utility Groundman, your day-to-day tasks often include assisting linemen with setting up equipment, preparing and organizing tools, handling materials, and keeping work sites safe and orderly. You may also help dig holes, install or replace utility poles, guide traffic at job sites, and operate or maintain vehicles and machinery as directed. This role is hands-on and physically demanding, requiring frequent outdoor work in various weather conditions. Working effectively with the crew is essential, as you support skilled lineworkers to maintain, repair, and build power line systems. These responsibilities provide valuable on-the-job experience that can lead to more advanced positions within the utility industry.
