Job description

Primary Function Under general supervision, monitors and controls electrical distribution system operations and equipment; prevents and restores the electric distribution system and maintains the operations reliability of the electrical distribution system; directs switching performed by field technicians and troubleshooters; coordinates customer outages, emergency restoration and clearances; maintains customer outage information database; complies with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) and District operating policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, business or other related field OR Associate's degree in engineering, math, business or other related field and four years' of electric systems, operation maintenance or line construction, electrical, electronic or computer science related work including design and analysis functions experience in the electrical field.

Direct and equivalent related power system operation, maintenance line construction, or relevant electrical utility fieldwork experience may be substituted for the required education at the ratio of two years of experience for one year of education required. Licensing & Certification Requirements Veteran's Preference (External Applicants Only): Submit DD form 214 or other evidence of veterans' status by the job posting deadline. Other Requirements/Testing EEI System Operator/Power Dispatcher (SOPD II) pre-employment test.
