Location: Houston, TX 77032 | Travel Throughout Harris County
Pay: $19.02 per hour | Weekly Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temporary
Assignment End Date: November 20, 2026
Additional Hours: Must be available for weekends, overtime, and extended hours as needed.

Support Your Community This Election Season
Openwork is hiring Election Training Specialists to support election operations throughout Harris County. This opportunity is ideal for someone with teaching or training experience who is confident presenting to groups, communicates professionally, and can adapt to a fast-paced environment.

You'll help prepare election workers by delivering training, answering questions, and providing support at various locations throughout Harris County.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Deliver classroom and field-based training to election workers.
  • Explain procedures and training materials clearly and accurately.
  • Provide professional customer service and technical guidance.
  • Answer questions and assist election workers as needed.
  • Travel to training and polling locations throughout Harris County.
  • Assist with time-sensitive needs during election periods.
  • Maintain professionalism and impartiality.
  • Support additional election-related duties as needed.

What We're Looking For:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year of teaching or training experience required.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements to register to vote in the State of Texas.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable speaking and presenting in front of groups.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new computer systems.
  • Ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
  • Strong organization and ability to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and able to work independently.

Travel & Work Environment
The main office is located in Houston, TX 77032, but Election Training Specialists will spend the majority of their time at various training and election locations throughout Harris County.

Candidates should be comfortable working in different professional environments and traveling to assigned locations as needed.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while conducting training.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to push wheeled carts weighing more than 200 pounds.
  • Comfortable using computers, phones, projectors, copiers, and standard office equipment.

Assignment Details
This is a temporary, full-time assignment through November 20, 2026. Selected candidates will be onboarded through Openwork, a Harris County-contracted staffing agency.
