We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team. This role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining complex data platforms, ETL pipelines, and analytics solutions supporting enterprise-scale systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Databricks, AWS, Python/Scala, Oracle, and Elasticsearch, along with a passion for building scalable, high-performance data solutions in an Agile environment.


Job Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid – Onsite 2 days/week, REQUIRED)
Duration: 1 year contract with possible extension
LOCAL ONLYJob Description:
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex database systems and enterprise data pipelines
  • Build and optimize ETL processes using Databricks, Python, and Scala
  • Develop and support data solutions using Oracle and cloud-based AWS services
  • Implement and manage Elasticsearch and Kibana for data indexing, search, and visualization
  • Ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability across data warehouse environments
  • Apply CMM/CMMI Level 3 methodologies and Agile development practices, including test-driven development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions
  • Support hybrid on-site operations and participate in required on-site interviews

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 12+ years of experience developing complex database systems
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks
  • 8+ years using Elasticsearch and Kibana
  • 8+ years of experience with Python and/or Scala
  • 8+ years of experience with Oracle
  • 5+ years of experience in ETL development and data pipeline design
  • 5+ years of experience with AWS cloud services
  • 5+ years of experience with data warehousing, data visualization tools, and data integrity
  • 5+ years working with CMM/CMMI Level 3 processes
  • 5+ years implementing Agile and test-driven development practices

Additional Requirements:
  • Candidates must be local (within 60 miles of Lansing, MI)
  • No remote-only option; relocation candidates will not be considered
  • Must be willing to attend onsite interviews in Lansing, MI
