Fluor is one of Canada's top employers and is recognized globally as a leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Fabrication, and Maintenance industry. Our focus on innovation and providing cost-effective technology-based solutions is second to none. As we look to the future, we need creative, ambitious, and innovative professionals who can help us fulfill our purpose to Build a Better World.

Fluor team members are at the heart of our success in executing projects safely, thoughtfully, and with the highest quality. If you value teamwork, empowerment in your career, and are eager to champion innovative and sustainable solutions to our clients, this opportunity just may be for you. Job Description The Pipeline Engineer I supports the engineering, design, and execution of pipeline and pipeline facilities projects across North American and international markets.

Working under the mentorship of experienced engineers, this role provides an opportunity to develop technical, analytical, and project execution skills while contributing to the safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of energy infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will participate in pipeline design, hydraulic and mechanical analysis, engineering studies, procurement support, construction support, and multidisciplinary project coordination. The position provides exposure to feasibility studies, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup, while supporting development toward professional engineering registration.

Pipeline Engineering and Design Support the engineering and design of onshore and, where applicable, offshore pipeline systems under the guidance of senior engineers. Perform calculations and analyses related to pipeline hydraulics, flow assurance, pipe wall thickness, stress, stability, crossings, and pipeline integrity. Engineering Analysis and Documentation Perform steady-state and transient hydraulic simulations and assist with thermal or flow assurance assessments using industry-standard tools.

Evaluate engineering data, identify assumptions and constraints, check results, and communicate conclusions through clear calculations and reports. Multidisciplinary Project Support Collaborate with civil, structural, geotechnical, process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation and controls, environmental, procurement, construction, and project controls teams. Participate in interdisciplinary reviews, project meetings, technical discussions, and resolution of design interfaces.

Procurement and Construction Support Assist with material requisitions, requests for quotation, technical specifications, technical bid evaluations, and vendor document reviews. Participate in constructability reviews, construction planning, and responses to field technical queries. Engineering Standards, Quality, and Safety Prepare deliverables in accordance with project quality requirements and participate in checking, verification, interdisciplinary review, and document control processes.

Apply safety, environmental, and risk-management principles to engineering decisions and promptly escalate uncertainties or concerns. Professional Development Participate in formal training, mentoring, technical communities, and project-based learning opportunities. Develop progressively greater technical independence and accountability while working toward Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration

Basic Job Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline from an accredited institution in 2025 or 2026. Eligibility for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Alberta Technical Competencies Fundamental knowledge of fluid mechanics, hydraulics, mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, and engineering design principles. Familiarity with pipeline systems, pipeline facilities, geotechnical concepts, construction methods, or integrity principles is considered an asset.

Exposure to hydraulic, stress, GIS, CAD, data-analysis, or other engineering software through academic, co-op, internship, or project experience is considered an asset. Other Job Requirements Preferred Qualifications Communication Skills Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and culturally diverse teams.

Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, initiative, curiosity, and practical problem-solving ability. Success Profile Demonstrates a strong technical foundation and eagerness to learn from mentors, project teams, and field experience. Takes ownership of assigned tasks, verifies outputs, and delivers accurate, timely, and well-documented work.

Builds effective working relationships and contributes positively through collaboration, professionalism, and clear communication. Fluor Canada rewards hard work, knowledge, and commitment. Fluor offers competitive employee compensation packages, comprehensive benefit programs including Health, Dental and Vision Care, flexible spending dollars, group registered retirement program, parental top-up, education reimbursement, employee and family assistance programs, and much more.
