Job description

Job Description Summary:
We are seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Night Shift Supervisor at the GP Egg Depot in Elkmont, AL. This individual will lead night-shift Egg Depot operations safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards. Directly supervise depot personnel, coordinate workflow, oversee sanitation, receiving, and shipping, and prepare the facility for the following shift. Work closely with Management, QA, Transportation, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve issues and maintain consistent standards.
Job Description:
  • Directly supervise night-shift depot personnel; assign work and adjust staffing as needs change.
  • Monitor performance, attendance, breaks, call-ins, and time in accordance with company policy.
  • Train, coach, and provide direction on job duties, safety, sanitation, biosecurity, and expectations.
  • Maintain a professional, productive, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Oversee nightly workload, scheduled orders, and shipment requirements; keep workflow moving efficiently.
  • Assign employees to egg handling, box making, cleaning, unloading, receiving, and other depot activities.
  • Monitor supplies, identify operational issues, and communicate shortages or needs to the appropriate department.
  • Ensure equipment and work areas are clean, organized, safe, and ready for operation.
  • Oversee cleaning and disinfection of the grader, egg rooms, equipment, work areas, and trucks.
  • Verify sanitation procedures are completed correctly and inspect completed areas for compliance.
  • Ensure proper chemical handling and documentation; address deficiencies and verify corrective action.
  • Enforce biosecurity practices throughout the facility and document violations when required.
  • Oversee farm-egg receiving and verify farm, quantity, flock, condition, and required documentation.
  • Report product-quality concerns to QA and keep receiving areas organized and sanitary.
  • Oversee safe unloading/loading of incoming and outgoing trucks and verify orders are handled correctly.
  • Coordinate with Transportation on schedules, delays, truck issues, washing, disinfection, and sanitation verification.
  • Complete production, receiving, sanitation, inspection, quality, and operational documentation accurately and on time.
  • Document staffing issues, equipment problems, sanitation concerns, operational problems, and significant events.
  • Communicate important information to Management and appropriate departments through established methods.
  • Provide a clear handoff covering unfinished work, concerns, equipment issues, inventory needs, and other priorities.
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout the facility.
  • Be proactive, stay engaged with employees and operations, address problems promptly, and ensure procedures are followed. The goal is for the facility, equipment, employees, product, and documentation to be fully prepared for the next day's operation.
  • The manager may assign additional duties
