Faculty and staff members are expected to be physically present on campus as needed to support the in-person educational experience and on-campus vitality at the University of West Georgia. Depending upon teaching assignments and student demand, this could include the Carrollton or Newnan campuses.
Job Summary
The Earth and Environmental Sciences (EES) Program at the University of West Georgia invites applications for a limited term instructor position (not to exceed one year) in the broad field of Environmental Sciences, set to begin on August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will teach multiple sections of Introductory EES courses such as environmental science, weather and climate and laboratories and potentially an upper-division course in their specialty (advanced Environmental Sciences, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, etc.). The EES Program is a supportive, student-centered group of Geology and Geography Faculty with a strong commitment to undergraduate education, experiential learning, and career preparation.
Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
Required Education:
M.S. or Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, or closely related fields.

Commitment to high-quality undergraduate teaching

Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Geography, Geology or related field
Preferred Experience:
Ability to teach upper-division courses in Hydrogeology or Hydrology
Evidence of experience in environmental consulting, or laboratory experience in environmental sciences
