What can I expect during the onboarding process after my Edustaff application is accepted?

Once your Edustaff application is accepted, you will typically go through a thorough onboarding process that includes background checks, orientation sessions, and required training modules. You'll be introduced to the policies, procedures, and expectations for substitute or support roles within partnering school districts. This process often includes learning about classroom management, reporting protocols, and scheduling systems. The onboarding team is available to answer questions and ensure you feel prepared before your first assignment.

What is the Edustaff application?

The Edustaff application is an online platform used by individuals seeking substitute teaching or support staff positions in K-12 schools partnered with Edustaff. Applicants use this system to submit their personal information, work history, educational background, and required documentation. The application process also includes background checks and other compliance requirements to ensure candidates meet state and district standards. Once submitted and approved, applicants can begin accepting assignments through Edustaff’s system.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Edustaff Substitute Teacher, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Edustaff Substitute Teacher, you generally need a bachelor's degree (or minimum educational requirements set by the district), a substitute teaching permit, and foundational classroom management skills. Familiarity with school information systems, lesson plan software, and online communication platforms is often required. Flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to quickly build rapport with students and staff make a substitute teacher stand out.
