Job description

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is seeking to hire a full-time Educational Interpreter Are you passionate about helping all students reach their potential? Do you love working in a bright, active, positive environment? Are you interested in joining an organization devoted to helping all children succeed? If so, this may be the position for you!

Responsibilities:
  • Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, school events, meetings, and assemblies for Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing (D/HH) students.
  • Voice the student's signed communication accurately and neutrally for teachers, staff, and peers
  • Support student participation in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and other school-sponsored activities.
  • Convey important auditory environmental cues (bells, alarms, announcements) to students.
  • Assist with behavior support plans and model appropriate communication behaviors when needed
