Program Manager II
The University of Alabama at Birmingham
General Responsibilities :
The Program Manager II will support the operational management, advising, and coordination needs across the Department of Health Policy and Organization's expanding portfolio of academic programs, including the Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH), the Doctor of Public Health, and certificate programs.
This position requires centralized, full-time management of :
• Student advising and progression across multiple degree programs, serving as the primary advisor for MPH and MSPH students
• Admissions processes and coordination across program tracks
• Course scheduling and curriculum implementation
• Accreditation reporting and documentation (CEPH)
• Program events, recruitment activities, and student engagement
• Integration of MSPH program administration into departmental operations
• Teaching assistant (TA) selection, appointments, and coordination of TA payments in Oracle
• GRA and Trainees appointments and processing Oracle ACT Doc and scholarship payments
Key Duties & Responsibilities :
• MPH and MSPH Advising
• Manage program operations for MPH and MSPH
• Curriculum and course administration and reporting and accreditation
• Support/Lead operational execution of student recruitment, outreach, and orientation events
• Teaching Assistant, GRA, trainee appointments, and scholarship coordination and support
• Admissions and student lifecycle management
• Performs other duties as assigned
Salary Pay Range : $51,270 - $83,330
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferences :
• Master's degree in Public Health, Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs Administration, Educational Leadership, Counseling, Public Administration, Health Administration, or a closely related field
• Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in academic program administration, student services, academic advising, higher education operations, or program management
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and maintain confidentiality
• Strong analytical, organizational, and customer-service skills
• Ability to interpret and apply institutional policies and procedures
• Commitment to student success and continued improvement
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with faculty and staff
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint
