SUMMARY
Responsible for providing day-to-day pharmacy program expertise for the National Employee Benefits group. Contributes to new business initiatives, and supports the delivery of consulting projects to prospects and clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as the day-to-day subject matter expert in pharmacy working closely with other health benefit consultants;
Works with Pharmacy Consultants and other health benefit consultants to develop client strategies, develops new business and prepares client deliverables;
Builds and fosters relationships with clients and serves as a trusted advisor;
Reviews Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) contracts and financial analysis of a proprietary Alliant pharmacy benefits purchasing model; works with team to prepare pricing models to evaluate the proposals for clients;
Participates in client conference calls or meetings to discuss work product;
Educates local region staff on pharmacy topics and identifies key sales opportunities for coordination with pharmacy and local consultant resources;
Reviews pharmacy reports and identifies key trends with comparison to benchmarks;
Contributes to the development of new tools and products to deepen value with clients by developing expert knowledge and experience of pharmacy best practices, market trends and products and services in the marketplace;
Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information);
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in health care or related industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
8+ of recent relevant experience in a consulting firm or PBM, or in actuarial, underwriting, pricing, account management, or consulting role in a Health & Welfare consulting/brokerage firm,
PBM or health insurance carrier
SKILLS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, organizational and prioritization skills
Excellent problem solving and time management skills
Ability to develop plans for execution of large, complex projects, seeing the big picture and leveragingother experts to contribute to the project as appropriate
Willingness to go the extra mile to produce quality work, as client-ready as possible, with a fine attention to detail
Self-starter attitude and ability to work with ambiguity
Flexibility to work in a fast paced environment with consultants who maintain busy travel schedules
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work with large data sets in Excel, Access, or other large data manipulation software a plus
