Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. It includes eight primary care sites, 40 school-based health centers and dental clinics, four day care centers, the nation's largest dental residency program, and New York State's largest behavioral health program. The network also includes 12 community medicine sites providing care to disenfranchised New Yorkers, comprehensive HIV services, chemical dependency programs, and a family support center that offers educational, vocational, and other social support programs. Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Associate, Bilingual Cantonese, Mandarin, Russian and/or Spanish - Shore Senior Center.
In this role, the successful candidate The Program Associate supports the daily operations of the Shore Hill Older Adult Center, which provides meals, educational, recreational, and social activities to promote the health, well-being, and social connection of older adults. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth Center operations by providing administrative support, supporting the coordination of programs and activities, and engaging participants, helping to create a welcoming and supportive community environment.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist older adults with sign-in procedures, calendars, and navigating the Center.
  • Input program participant attendance and service data into the NYC Agings client tracking system and maintain accurate sign-in sheets and related documentation to comply with NYC Aging standards.
  • Process invoices and assist with budget tracking and expense management.
  • Manage daily contributions, including accurate counting and recording of contributions.
  • Order and maintain office and recreational supplies.
  • Manage staff timekeeping.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and other documents.
  • Help plan, coordinate and support activities and events for older adults.
  • Assist the Program Supervisor with setting up rooms for events and cleaning up after activities.
  • Assist in creating calendars of activities and events.
  • Assist with meal service coordination, including ensuring that meal sign-ins are accurate.
  • Coordinate the food pantry, ensuring proper organization and distribution.
  • Conduct outreach to older adults and the broader community to promote the Centers programs and services.
  • Engage older adults in activities and events to encourage participation and social interaction.
  • Report any participant health or safety concerns immediately to the Program Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor to support the Centers operations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • To qualify you must have a Associate's Degree is required.
  • Minimum of 1 Year of related experience in an office setting or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic data management software.
  • Commitment to working with older adults and providing high quality programs and services.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Bilingual Fluency in additional languages: Russian, Chinese, Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience working with older adults in a community setting
