Description: Special Education Teacher
- Teaching Vacancies:

  • STAR (Autism Program)
    • Elementary- Grades 1-5 classrooms (ATC & Outlying Member District Building)
  • FALP Program
    • High School (Outlying Member District Building)


Job Summary: Teacher will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide educational programming to students with a range of cognitive and intellectual disabilities, and/or social emotional disorders. Students may also have physical and/or significant health impairments. Duties may include development and implementation of IEP goals, data collection, behavior management (including physical restraint), and daily life skills support. Communication with families and other team members is essential.ย 

Special Educationย Teacher will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide educational programming to students with autism spectrum disorder as well as moderate to severe mental impairment. Students may also have physical and/or significant health impairments. Duties may include development and implementation of IEP goals, data collection, behavior management (including physical restraint), positioning, feeding, lifting/transferring, and equipment maintenance. Communication with families and other team members is essential. Assistive technology devices are utilized within program based on student specific needs.
Qualifications:ย  Illinois Professional Educator's License:ย LBS I (for EC positions- also EC/ Pre-K Endorsement needed)
Working Conditions: Special Education Cooperative classroom- AERO Therapeutic Center & Outlying Classrooms
Compensation: Starting Salary for 26-27 SY for Step 1/Lane 1 is $57,327. (Range is $57,327 - $81,513 based on years of experience and degree)
