Job DescriptionPosition Overview

Roux is seeking a Database Analyst with hands-on experience using EarthSoftโ€™s EQuIS to support the management of environmental and chemical data for analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate is an experienced analyst with a desire to grow who can execute day-to-day EDD processing and project support while also supporting EQuIS database administration, configuration, and client-facing dashboard/reporting capabilities. This role will work closely with Rouxโ€™s existing environmental data management team as we expand Rouxโ€™s EQuIS-based service offerings. Candidate is expected to work from the Burlington, Massachusetts office three days per week at minimum.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or higher in relevant technical field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of environmental data management experience, including practical use of EarthSoftโ€™s EQuIS in a consulting or regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience processing and QA/QCโ€™ing laboratory EDDs efficiently using EQuIS (EDP) (or comparable EDD workflow).
  • Working knowledge of EQuIS configuration/administration concepts.
  • Strong skills and proficiency with Microsoft-based software, including MS Access and MS Excel.
  • Interest and aptitude for building client-facing outputs (dashboards/reporting) using EQuIS dashboards.
  • Basic to intermediate SQL skills for querying, troubleshooting, and supporting reports/dashboards.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple project priorities and tight schedules.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination with project managers, laboratories, and technical staff.
  • Ability to help build and scale Rouxโ€™s EQuIS capabilities by training and supporting other staff, including analysts with prior database experience.
  • Support environmental project teams by managing, processing, and qualityโ€‘checking environmental data in EQuIS to ensure datasets are accurate, complete, and suitable for reporting, compliance, and analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, scientists, engineers, and GIS staff to understand project requirements, prioritize data tasks, and deliver highโ€‘quality data support under tight timelines.
  • Process laboratory and field EDDs in EQuIS (EDP), perform QA/QC and completeness checks, resolve common errors efficiently, and coordinate corrections with labs and project staff.
  • Support routine data tracking, data loading, and data delivery workflows.
  • Develop, run, and refine standard queries (SQL-based or within EQuIS) and reports to support project reporting needs.
  • Assist with EQuIS database administration and configuration activities, including management of reference values, formats, templates, and standard reports.
  • Develop clientโ€‘facing dashboards and reporting solutions (e.g., EQuIS-based and/or Power BI), working with project teams to translate technical data into clear, usable outputs for clients.
  • Help document workflows, QA/QC procedures, and guidance materials that improve efficiency, consistency, and quality across Rouxโ€™s EQuISโ€‘based data management services.
  • Provide handsโ€‘on training and ongoing support to other staff in the use of EQuIS and related data management workflows, enabling consistent and effective use of the system across projects.

Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000. This salary range is based on what Roux in good faith believes it might pay at the time of posting for this position and for this geographic location. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as relevant work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications, skill sets, and internal equity. In addition, this position is eligible for performance bonuses based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
