Job description

Are you the electronics pro who thrives on tough diagnostics and exacting precision?

If yes, this 12+ month contract could be your next move. Start with immersive training in July 2026 at the Westinghouse Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA. Then take your skills on the road—traveling to nuclear sites to support both precision EDM operations and mission-critical I&C field work.

Your mission

Blend hands-on I&C expertise with precision manufacturing. One week, you’re programming and running ZAP EDM sinker equipment; the next, you’re troubleshooting a control circuit, calibrating sensors, or executing a formal test plan—always documenting thoroughly and collaborating with engineering and production to keep manufacturing on target.

What success looks like
  • Instrumentation and controls: installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of sensors, PLCs, and automated systems.
  • EDM operations: setup, programming, and operation of ZAP EDM sinker machines for high-accuracy parts.
  • Testing and verification: use oscilloscopes, DMMs, and vendor simulators to validate performance; keep detailed logs.
  • Technical literacy: interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and engineering instructions; execute test procedures.
  • Equipment operation: utilize electrical/electronic test gear to diagnose and correct issues.
  • Excellence in EHS and quality: follow the appropriate procedures every time.
  • Cross-functional growth: contribute to generalized I&C field assignments; perform required field cable installation.
What you bring to the team
  • Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: Military electronics experience (Electronics Technician, Avionics, etc.).
  • Preferred: 2+ years in electronics/I&C or closely related work.
  • Strong mechanical sense and comfort with precision tools/equipment.
  • Bonus: Experience with ZAP EDM or other sinker/wire EDM platforms.
Core strengths and tools
  • Commercial/industrial electrical installation, troubleshooting, repair, and diagnostics (including heavy equipment systems).
  • Electrical panel installation; equipment wiring and commissioning.
  • Access control systems; equipment maintenance and repair programs.
  • Fluent in reading electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on with EDM Machine (Sinker).
Safety, always

Bring your commitment to doing things the right way—your safety and success are equally important here.
