About the Employer
The Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) is a service agency supporting the county's 23 school districts that serve nearly 430,000 students. RCOE provides administrative support to districts, leads programs for preschool, special education, pregnant minor, corrections, migrant, and vocational students, and offers professional training, support and resources for teachers, administrators, and staff throughout Riverside County.
Job Summary
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The job of Braille Transcriber under general supervision, is done for the purpose(s) of transcribing a wide variety of kindergarten through twelfth grade instructional materials, textbooks, graphs, and charts into a medium that can be used for students who are visually impaired.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Certificate Copy (Valid Library of Congress Braille Transcriber's Certificate)
  • Letter of Introduction (Letter must be specific to the position for which you are applying)
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) Letters of Recommendation are required and must be signed by the author. The signature block must include the author's name and title/relationship to the applicant. Letters must be dated within the last 2 years prior to the position closing date. Letters without author's signature, name and title/relationship to the applicant and letters without a date or dated more than 2 years prior to the position closing date will not be accepted. One letter from a supervisor is preferred.)
  • Resume (Employment information on Resume must be current and consistent with the employment information on the EdJoin application/Record of Work Experience)
