Summary of Job Duties:The Extra Help/Marketing Assistant designs graphics and creates media to support ASBTDC's traditional and digital marketing efforts. The position also contributes to special projects and events to fulfill the goals and strategic initiatives of the organization.
The ideal candidate will be a creative and skilled graphic artist who produces professional-caliber work using a wide variety of media techniques. This is an hourly (20 hours per week), grant-funded, non-benefits eligible position. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Formal high school diploma;
  • Portfolio of samples of design work.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Significant secondary coursework or bachelor's degree in art, design, marketing, communications, or related field;
  • Experience creating graphics for print and digital output;
  • Small business knowledge or work experience;
  • WordPress knowledge or experience;
  • Video editing knowledge or experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Design

  • Collaborate on conceiving, developing, and designing materials for use in marketing ASBTDC services to Arkansas entrepreneurs and small businesses and educating key stakeholders on the impact of ASBTDC services;
  • Design digital and print pieces, such as flyers, social media images, e-books, banners, presentations, reels, and maps, for ASBTDC marketing and educational purposes;
  • Distill and interpret statistics to produce easy-to-understand charts, infographics, and reports;
  • Apply established brand guidelines, ensuring colors, typography, and logo usage are uniform across all touchpoints;
  • Organize and maintain design files and templates;
  • Ensure files are correctly formatted and print-ready for vendors;
  • Assist ASBTDC staff and offices to fulfill their design requests and meet event and project deadlines.

Other Job Duties

  • Contribute to ASBTDC's brand, visual identity, and messaging;
  • Support organizational marketing, training, and outreach activities;
  • Work cooperatively with staff to provide high-quality service;
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the University System and ASBTDC Conflict of Interest standards;
  • Perform other duties as assigned to accomplish the goals and mission of the organization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally by email, telephone, and face to face;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines;
