2025-2026 School Year

 

POSITION:         Bus Drivers

REPORTS TO:   Director of Transportation

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Drives bus to transport students over specified routes according to time schedule. Complies with traffic regulations.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a valid Indiana State CDL License with Passenger and Safety Endorsement (Original driver’s license must be presented with application)
  • Physical on File (Medical Examiners Certification) and a State Certified Yellow Card
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must have no points on driving record and able to pass physical including drug test
  • Must complete a Safe Hiring Solutions background check
  • A mandatory negative drug test is required prior to appointment to this position
  • Must possess written communication skills, including the ability to draft, edit, and proofread emails, as well as reading comprehension to respond to those emails.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Drives a school bus safely and professionally
  2. Performs and properly completes daily pre-trip inspections
  3. Complies with all traffic ordinances
  4. Complies with discipline policies set forth in the School Code of Conduct for Transportation
  5. Participates in on-site training
  6. Shows proficiency in handling and maneuvering school bus
  7. Any or all assigned duties
