In logistics, EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) is a digital system used by professionals to exchange standardized business documents such as purchase orders, invoices, and shipping notices electronically. It streamlines communication between trading partners, reduces manual data entry, and improves supply chain efficiency. EDI specialists often work with EDI software and standards like ANSI X12 or EDIFACT to ensure accurate data transmission.
