Description:
Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a System Administrator 2 to support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of IT systems across enterprise environments.
This role emphasizes mission operations sustainment, including advanced troubleshooting, system monitoring, and maintaining reliable performance across Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will support escalated issues, manage system stability, and contribute to ongoing infrastructure improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems
  • Perform Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
  • Manage day-to-day system operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and updates
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, SLES, Ubuntu)
  • Support OS installation, file systems, TCP/IP networking, and software lifecycle activities
  • Troubleshoot system, application, and infrastructure issues across mission environments
  • Utilize automation and configuration management tools (Salt, Ansible)
  • Monitor systems using tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk
  • Collaborate using Jira, Confluence, Git, and Slurm for workload and system management
  • Support performance optimization and capacity planning

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (5 additional years of experience may substitute)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a System Administrator in similar environments
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience with Linux system administration, networking, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with monitoring, automation, and scripting tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Ansible, Bash)
