Ampere is a semiconductor design company for a new era, leading the future of computing with an innovative approach to CPU design focused on high-performance, energy efficient AI compute.
As a pioneer in the new frontier of energy efficient high-performance computing, Ampere is part of the Softbank Group of companies driving sustainable computing for AI, Cloud, and edge applications.
Join us at Ampere and work alongside a passionate and growing team - we'd love to have you apply!
About the role:
Ampere is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to support our growing Hardware Platform Architecture team.
What You'll Achieve:
  • Lead the definition, design, and validation of board & system-level development programs, from concept to prototype to production, for Ampere products.

  • Own the development of hardware requirements, schedules, build plans, validation plans, and delivery of high-quality platforms by partnering with silicon architects, platform architects, package design, platform design, firmware, design validation, final/system-level test, and external ODM/Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners.

  • Develop integrated schedules aligned with internal and external stakeholders, clearly capturing dependencies and deliverables, and drive execution to successful program completion.

  • Partner closely with Procurement and Planning to manage demand forecasts, lead times, build plans, annual operating budgets, and platform delivery. Maintain accurate and current product data, BOMs, and documentation in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Advanced Planning System (APS) systems.

  • Own relationships with ODM/CM development partners and serve as the main point of contact.

  • Manage, understand, and drive closure of board and system-level defects.

  • Support multi-site silicon and platform validation teams by identifying and resolving dependencies and issues across cross-functional groups.

About You:
  • Minimum 8 years project or program management experience in hardware design, with experience defining, driving, and shipping products through multiple release cycles.
  • Deep understanding of board and system-level platform development lifecycles.
  • Broad knowledge and experience across business, engineering, NPI and manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of change control, issue tracking, and release readiness for hardware platforms.
  • Ability to lead others, influence stakeholders, and drive decisions with the senior leadership team.
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, communicate, and integrate technical concepts related to SoC products or SoC-based platform development.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Professional demeanor with strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field. Bachelor's degree & 8 years of related experience; or Master's degree & 6 years; or PhD & 3 years.

What we'll offer:
At Ampere we believe in taking care of our employees and providing a competitive total rewards package that includes base pay, cash long-term incentive, and comprehensive benefits.
