Our client is undertaking a strategic cloud and data transformation initiative, migrating from AWS to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). This effort includes decommissioning an existing Snowflake environment hosted on AWS, standing up modern data lakes and data warehouses on Google Cloud Platform, and migrating data from multiple enterprise source systems into the new platform.
The client is seeking a highly experienced Google Cloud Platform Cloud/Data Architect to provide technical leadership, validate architecture designs, and guide the overall migration strategy. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on architect with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform data services, cloud migrations, and enterprise-scale data platform modernization.
This role will initially focus on assessing the viability of the client's current Google Cloud Platform architecture. If additional support is required, the consultant will lead architectural efforts and provide hands-on guidance throughout implementation.

Rate: $100.00 to $120.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and validate the client's cloud and data architecture strategy for Google Cloud Platform.
  • Design and implement scalable data lake and data warehouse solutions within Google Cloud Platform.
  • Lead the migration of data platforms and analytical workloads from AWS to Google Cloud Platform.
  • Develop strategies for decommissioning Snowflake on AWS and transitioning to a Google Cloud Platform-based data ecosystem.
  • Architect data ingestion, integration, ETL/ELT, and analytics solutions across multiple source systems.
  • Establish cloud architecture standards, governance, security controls, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define roadmap, priorities, and migration strategies.
  • Identify performance, scalability, and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to internal teams with limited Google Cloud Platform experience.
  • Serve as the primary Google Cloud Platform subject matter expert driving the initiative from planning through execution.

Experience Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in cloud, data, and solution architecture roles.
  • Deep expertise with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and modern data architectures.
  • Proven experience building enterprise-scale data lakes and data warehouse environments on Google Cloud Platform.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience migrating Snowflake data platforms and workloads.
  • Multi-cloud experience supporting both AWS and Google Cloud Platform environments.
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect and/or Professional Data Engineer certification.
  • Experience working in environments where cloud platforms are being adopted for the first time.
  • Background in cloud governance, security, and data platform modernization initiatives.
