E-Commerce Specialist

Dixon, IL, US

The E-Commerce Specialist supports the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and growth of Sewer Equipment Aftermarket's eCommerce platform. This position is responsible for executing the daily activities that keep the platform accurate, organized, and optimized for customers.

Working closely with the Direct Channel Sales Manager,the E-Commerce Specialist manages product information, merchandising, website content, SEO implementation, and Shopify administration while supporting new product launches and continuous platform

improvements.

As the eCommerce department grows, this role will serve as the operational foundation of the team.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Create, update, and maintain product listings within Shopify.
  • Ensure product information, pricing, specifications, images, and inventory remain accurate.
  • Organize products into logical collections and categories.
  • Support new product launches and product lifecycle management.
  • Perform routine catalog audits to maintain data quality and consistency.
Website Content & SEO
  • Create and maintain product descriptions, category pages, and supporting website content.
  • Implement on-page SEO best practices, including metadata, page titles, image alttext, and internal linking.
  • Assist in improving organic search visibility through ongoing content optimization.
  • Maintain consistency across all product and collection pages.
  • Maintain featured products, collections, and merchandising displays.
  • Assist with cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
  • Support improvements to site navigation, search functionality, and product discoverability.
  • Perform website quality assurance testing and report issues affecting the customer experience.
Shopify Administration
  • Support the daily operation and maintenance of the Shopify platform.
  • Execute pricing updates, promotions, product launches, and collection changes.
  • Assist with app administration and routine platform configuration.
  • Document recurring processes and maintain operational standards.
Operational Support
  • Assist with basic eCommerce reporting and data validation.
  • Coordinate with marketing, operations, purchasing, customer service, and IT on projects affecting the website.
  • Support process improvement initiatives that increase operational efficiency.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve platform usability and customer experience.
Qualifications Required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
Preferred
  • Experience with Shopify or other eCommerce platforms.
  • Experience managing product catalogs or website content.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices.
  • Experience with digital merchandising or product management.
  • Experience in industrial, municipal, contractor, or aftermarket parts industries.
Success Indicators
  • Product information is accurate, complete, and consistently maintained.
  • New products are launched efficiently and on schedule.
  • Website content and SEO initiatives are completed accurately.
  • The product catalog remains organized, scalable, and easy to maintain.
  • Customers experience a reliable, user-friendly shopping experience.
  • The eCommerce platform supports continued revenue growth through accurate execution and operational excellence.

  • Full-time role based in Dixon, IL
  • Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Earning Potential

Total compensation package (including base salary and Sewer Aftermarket Productivity Bonus) of $50,000 - $75,000
