Job description

Job Description - Overview
Hobby Lobby Ecommerce is looking for a Product Photographer to join our Visual Merchandising team. The shift is 8:30am - 5pm from Monday till Friday. This position is responsible for creating accurate, consistent, high-quality product photography that helps customers confidently shop our products online. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, understands lighting and composition, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume studio environment. This role requires balancing creativity and technical photography skills with established standards, productivity expectations, and an efficient workflow.
Responsibilities
  • Photograph a wide variety of merchandise for use on Hobby Lobby's ecommerce website.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and visually consistent product images that represent merchandise from a customer-focused perspective.
  • Determine appropriate lighting, composition, angles, and positioning based on the product and established photography standards.
  • Prepare, arrange, and position merchandise for photography.
  • Capture required product views and details to help customers understand the product's appearance, features, scale, texture, and construction.
  • Perform image review and basic-to-intermediate photo editing, including cropping, color correction, exposure adjustments, cleanup, and other necessary retouching.
  • Maintain established quality and productivity standards while working through a high volume of merchandise.
  • Organize and manage digital image files according to established processes.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient studio workspace.
  • Collaborate with Photo Editors, Stylists, and other members of the Ecommerce Visual Merchandising team.
  • Receive and apply feedback to continually improve image quality, consistency, and efficiency.

Job Description - Requirements
Qualifications
  • Experience with DSLR cameras and professional photography equipment.
  • Working knowledge of studio lighting, exposure, composition, color, and basic photographic principles.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge.
  • Ability to perform basic-to-intermediate photo editing and retouching.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle differences in color, lighting, positioning, and image quality.
  • Ability to follow established photography standards while using good judgment when photographing products with unique requirements.
  • Comfortable working in a production environment with quality and productivity expectations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple products and priorities while maintaining accuracy.
  • Ability to accept direction and feedback and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and willing to learn new processes and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional product, commercial, retail, or ecommerce photography experience.
  • Experience photographing a broad range of products, materials, sizes, and finishes.
  • Experience working in a high-volume photography or production studio.
  • Experience with Capture One and tethered photography workflows a plus.
  • Familiarity with Mac computers and macOS.
  • Understanding of ecommerce product imagery and how photography supports the online customer experience.
  • Experience with color correction and preparing images for digital use.
