Founding Ecommerce Lead - New Brand

American Tall

Mississauga, ON • On-site, Remote

Full-time

Re-posted 13 days ago

Job description

We are building a new direct-to-consumer apparel brand launching in Spring 2027. Backed by a team that's done it before, we're entering a category we believe has been overlooked for far too long. Customers deserve better products, a stronger brand, and a world-class experience. We're here to raise the bar.

This is an opportunity to join as one of our founding employees. You'll be part of a small team making key decisions, solving meaningful problems, and building the foundation of the business from pre-launch. The pace will be fast, the challenges real, and your impact impossible to miss. Every decision you make will help shape how this business grows.

We're looking for builders. People who embrace uncertainty, move with urgency, take ownership, and are driven by the opportunity to create something exceptional. If you're excited by big challenges, meaningful responsibility, and the chance to help build a brand from the ground up, this could be a game-changing opportunity for you.

The Role

As our Ecommerce Lead, you'll support the day-to-day management and performance of our website, playing a key role in driving revenue growth and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

This is a highly hands-on role for someone who enjoys both strategy and execution. One day, you might be reviewing sales performance, testing new Shopify apps, or optimizing the customer journey. The next, you could be writing product copy, troubleshooting a site issue, coordinating a product launch, or identifying new opportunities for growth.

Working closely with leaders across product, creative, marketing, and technology, you'll turn ideas into execution while continually improving how customers discover, shop, and engage with our brand. You'll have meaningful ownership, broad exposure across the business, and significant influence over the future direction of the website experience.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Build & Grow the Website Experience

  • Support the day-to-day management of our Shopify storefront and all of its elements.
  • Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve growth.
  • Help execute promotions, product launches, and merchandising strategies.
  • Continuously improve the customer journey from homepage through checkout.

Create Outstanding Customer Experiences

  • Ensure products, collections, pricing, and promotions are presented accurately.
  • Improve navigation, merchandising, and overall shopping experience.
  • Identify customer pain points and implement practical improvements.
  • Work closely with creative partners to bring campaigns and new launches to life.

Use Data to Make Better Decisions

  • Track key ecommerce metrics including revenue, conversion, AOV, and customer retention.
  • Build reports that help the team understand what's working and what isn't.
  • Use customer insights to recommend improvements across the business.
  • Support experimentation through testing and continuous optimization.
Experience, Education, & Designations
  • 4+ years of ecommerce experience in a direct-to-consumer (DTC) environment.
  • Proven experience managing a Shopify storefront.
  • Demonstrated success driving ecommerce growth through merchandising, conversion optimization, and customer experience improvements.
  • Experience with merchandising, promotional planning, and ecommerce trading calendars.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, operations, creative, and other business functions.
  • Experience managing external agencies and third-party partners.
  • Experience working in an early-stage or high-growth business is considered an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, & Attributes
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and financial acumen, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with Shopify and the broader ecommerce ecosystem.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager, and Looker or similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled using Klaviyo, Microsoft Clarity, or similar customer engagement and behavioral analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing platforms and conversion rate optimization (CRO) methodologies is considered a strong asset.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
