Job Description

 Responsible for implementing and maintaining high-quality code that supports new features and resolves issues in multiple applications within AtRetail ecosystem. Collaborate closely with performance team to ensure application meets performance standards, providing support during load tests and addressing performance-related challenges. Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and environment issues. Implement code changes to support new features. Develop and deploy fixes for issues identified during testing and production. Collaborate with performance team to ensure successful load testing and optimize application performance. Work with various applications associated with project. Conduct thorough code reviews for changes made by team members and other project contributors. Provide technical support and guidance to team members, aiding in their understanding of business rules and decision-making processes. Contribute to ideation and design of effective solutions for implementing new features and resolving existing issues. Produce estimates for assigned tasks given well defined business requirements. Produce quality code meeting internal and industry standards. Promote reusability within application under development. Write performant code according to industry standards and project/organizational KPIs. Write clear documentation to ensure code is understandable to provide wider focus and understanding into design decisions. Provide input into designs for assigned tasks. Translate designs into code for assigned tasks. Understands build/deployment processes and support moving code and any other changes (ex: database) through these phases. Create build/deployment artifacts as needed. Support production systems through troubleshooting/triaging issues and providing on call support where needed.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study and 5 years of progressive experience in Software Development.

Applicant must have demonstrated experience with the following:
1) 5 years of experience in Core Java 1.8 and above.
2) 4 years of experience building backend services in a microservice architecture.
3) 4 years of experience in Spring Framework 5.x and Spring Boot 2.x or higher.
4) 3 years of experience with JMS for messaging and integrating applications with ActiveMQ for message brokering.
5) 3 years of experience with database access using Spring JDBC Template, JPA, and Hibernate.
6) 3 years of experience with Maven build tool.
7) 3 years of experience building web services using RESTful JSON API and SOAP web services using XML.
8) 3 years of experience developing code and tests using Agile methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
9) 2 years of experience writing test code using JUnit 5, Mockito, and AssertJ.
10) 2 years of experience with in-memory distributed data storage systems (such as Memcache, EHCache, or Hazelcast)
11) Software Development experience with eCommerce platforms.
12) IntelliJ IDE for Java development.
13) working in and navigating MacOS, Unix, or Linux command-line environments for development and deployment.
Any and all experience may be gained concurrently.

*Hybrid position requiring weekly onsite work Monday through Thursday in Ann Arbor office*
