Experience and Skills
What You Will Do:
This role is responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance Chocolove and Ritter Sport's online presence, optimize consumer digital experiences, and achieve e-commerce revenue targets in the US. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of e-commerce trends and best practices. They strategize the direction for business growth through owning the consumer digital experience. This includes strategizing, planning, developing, and executing content plans, overseeing promotional materials and campaigns, and monitoring performance analytics, traffic, and product performance, among other things. This is a key hands-on role in the organization, providing thought leadership to develop and prioritize the digital roadmap, while also leading its tactical execution, operations, and business delivery. We are looking for a highly motivated, results-oriented individual to both lead and do.
Responsibilities:
  • E-Commerce Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and implement a comprehensive e-commerce strategy that aligns with overall business goals and drives online revenue growth.
  • Sales and Revenue Growth: Drive online sales growth (DTC, Amazon, retailer.com) through effective digital merchandising, pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and consumer acquisition and retention initiatives.
  • Consumer Experience: Continuously enhance the online consumer experience, ensuring intuitive navigation, optimized site performance, and a seamless purchasing journey.
  • Digital Marketing: Collaborate with the Marketing team to create and execute digital marketing campaigns that increase website traffic, conversion rates, and customer engagement.
  • Technology and Platforms: Oversee the maintenance & optimization of e-commerce platforms, ensuring a secure and user-friendly online shopping environment. Advise on improvements or new platforms to explore.
  • Data Analysis: Manage all aspects of web analytics related to eCommerce and communicate relevant information to team members and leadership. Utilize data-driven insights to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze sales trends, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Inventory and Fulfillment: Coordinate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory management, efficient order fulfillment, and timely delivery of products.
  • Partnerships and Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors, third-party partners, and marketplaces to expand distribution channels and drive sales.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the e-commerce budget. Own the P&L for respective platforms. Generate and implement new sales and marketing initiatives to increase eCommerce sales and profitability.
  • Measurement & Reporting: Develop, routinely analyze, and provide monthly reporting on business performance to leadership.
  • Leadership: Oversee and manage an e-commerce associate including training, performance evaluation, and professional development.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • BA/BS in business, marketing, communications, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive eCommerce and DTC experience, 8+ years preferred.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with exceptional execution and problem-solving capabilities; comfortable with doing work in the trenches while still maintaining a strategic perspective.
  • Proven leader with experience in both managing others and executing large eCommerce projects.
  • Previous experience scaling a startup or small company.
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing and ecommerce funnel flows and interactions, including understanding of levers to drive KPIs such as visits, conversion, and AOV.
  • Experience in website operations and in optimizing site user experience through enhancements and platform updates.
  • Proficiency in web analytics tools and e-commerce platforms.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Amazon 1P/3P experience, Amazon Advertising, Google Analytics, third?party delivery platforms, and retailer.com
  • Strong budgetary management, proven experience analyzing marketing spend to determine ROI and inform future activities/investments.
  • Demonstrated strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives.
  • Strong project management and interpersonal skills.
  • CPG food & beverage industry experience required

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary range of $150-170k plus bonus potential
  • Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.

Office & Travel Requirements:
  • This is a hybrid in-office role in Chicago, IL.
  • Must be able to travel to Boulder, CO roughly 3-4X per year.
