Description:MINIMUM PROFESSIONAL LEVEL EXEMPTION REQUIREMENTS:

The Senior Environmental Specialist level position is a Professional Exemption Level, which requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or the sciences (environmental, chemistry, biology, geology) or a similar degree or equivalent on-the-job experience and eight to ten years of on-the-job experience in Environmental Consulting work.

Georgia PG and/or PE required.

The primary duties are performing work that requires advanced knowledge in one or more engineering or science fields.


PROFESSIONAL PRIMARY DUTY REQUIREMENTS:

Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Shows competence in administrative and technical practices. More client contact with associated responsibility for client satisfaction. Carries out tasks or projects of both extended and limited duration, cost, and technical complexity with limited direction of staff. Interprets data, performs analyses, draws conclusions, develops recommendations, and prepares completed reports for projects of varying sizes. It may involve the preparation of designs and/or environmental specifications. Includes supervising the work and training other personnel for small and medium size projects. May assist with the scope of proposals. Should strive to become experts in specific government regulations or technical areas, such as wetlands, vapor intrusion, asbestos, indoor air quality, etc. Must have very good written and verbal communication skills or demonstrate the ability to improve these skills. Capability to handle Associate Senior level responsibilities, including detailed project billing and superior communication skills.


DUTIES:

Conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Assessments, Risk Assessments, Corrective Actions Plans, Compliance Status Reports, and other environmental-related projects. Duties include coordination with clients and subcontractors and keeping abreast of environmental-related Governmental Regulations. May assist with the supervision of work and training of other personnel. Requires project management skills, including tracking budgets and schedules of multiple projects and coordinating multiple subcontractors and sub-consultants. Must be computer proficient in Word and Excel. Must develop relationships with government agency personnel. This may entail a review of other Project Manager’s work or Staff level work. Any other duties as required. Continuing education in the form of seminars, in-house or out-of-office training, or self-study is required. Must be involved with at least one professional or business-related organization.
