Job Title
Job Overview: Pay Range: $72.79hr - $77.79hr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with suppliers and engineering teams to support new product introduction (NPI).
- Execute Part Production Qualification Process (PPQP), including spFMEA, special process validations, process capability, capacity analysis, and FAIR.
- Develop supplier ramp readiness plans based on forecast, capacity, quality performance, and process capability.
- Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) by engaging suppliers early to improve product designs prior to production.
- Lead resolution of supplier quality and supply continuity issues using root cause analysis and corrective actions (SCARs, SCRs, VR processes).
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive supplier excellence programs using best practices such as Six Sigma, Lean, SPC, and project management.
- Develop and track supplier metrics related to cost, delivery, quality, capacity, and capability.
- Drive engineering change processes (ECO) by updating specifications and drawings as needed.
- Prepare and deliver supplier communications including scorecards, QBRs, and supplier summits.
- Identify cost reduction and quality improvement opportunities and present data-driven strategies to management.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Master's degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of related engineering experience (internship and co-op experience acceptable).
Required Skills
- Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes such as injection molding, machining, thermoforming, and stamping.
- Understanding of statistical techniques including process capability analysis and normality.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings; familiarity with GD&T preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities.
- Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Minitab, Confluence, and other engineering tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes.
- Experience in a medical device industry environment.
