Job description
Key Responsibilities
Deliver respiratory care across all age groups - neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
Manage ventilators and advanced airway support in critical care settings
Perform ABG draws and interpret results for clinical decision-making
Conduct spontaneous breathing trials and support weaning protocols
Implement proning techniques for high-acuity patients
Assist with ECMO support and nitrous oxide procedures (as applicable)
Provide tracheostomy care and manage airway complications
Support the prevention and treatment of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP)
Experience: Minimum 2 years in Acute Care
License: Active Illinois Respiratory Therapist License
Certifications (Required): BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS, NRP
Credential: RRT or CRT
EMR: Epic experience required
Strong hands-on experience in ventilator management and critical care
Work in a high-acuity, fast-paced Level I Trauma & Teaching Hospital
Exposure to advanced technologies, including ECMO, Servo-U, Hamilton vents, and Optiflow
12-hour block scheduling with no on-call requirements
Collaborative team environment with strong clinical support
