Job description

The AdventHealth Transplant Institute in Celebration, Florida, is seeking a fellowship-trained advanced heart failure transplant cardiologist to join its thriving heart program. This role offers the opportunity to work within the comprehensive AdventHealth healthcare system, supported by a multidisciplinary team. The physician will benefit from cross-coverage for advanced heart failure/transplant call and contribute to a program performing numerous heart transplants and mechanical circulatory support device implantations annually.

Practice Info

  • Work in an exciting and thriving transplant program with full AdventHealth healthcare system support.
  • Work with a comprehensive team including surgeons, cardiologists, coordinators, dieticians, pharmacists, therapists, and social workers.
  • The Transplant Institute offers a vibrant and growing Mechanical Circulatory Support Device program and a fully developed ECMO program.
  • The team performs 40-45 hearts and 30-50 mechanical circulatory support devices per year with multi-organ transplant capability.
  • The program has a robust cardiogenic shock program with over 250 temporary mechanical circulatory devices implanted per year and a state-of-the-art 9900 shock unit.
  • The AdventHealth Transplant Institute is located just outside downtown Orlando, close to the charming Winter Park community.

Responsibilities

  • Perform right and left heart catheterizations and biopsies.

Requirements

  • Fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant.
  • Board certification in Cardiovascular Disease.
