Compensation

Marker-Grader positions are paid according tothe qualifications that the employee holds.

  • Master's Degree Complete ($36.00/hour) - Paid to employees who have completed a master's degree.(Rate effective September 1, 2026)

  • Undergraduate Degree Complete ($31.04/hour) Paid to employees who have completed a four-year honours degree or a three-year pass degree.(Rate effective September 1, 2026)

  • Third Year Complete ($22.91/hour) - Paid to employees who have completed the third year of an undergraduatehonoursdegree.(Rate effective September 1, 2026)

  • Second Year Complete ($20.15/hour) Paid to employees who have completed the second year of an undergraduate degree.(Rate effective September 1, 2026)

  • First Year Complete ($19.00/hour) Paid to employees who have completed the first year of an undergraduatehonoursdegree.(Rate effective September 1, 2026)

Duties

Duties and responsibilities will bein accordance withArticle 22 of the Collective Agreement.
The marker-grader is expected to mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams and must be prepared to provide written feedback to students that will clearly identify the basis of the grade assigned; whether it is due to substantive content, or to written communications, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization of the submission.


The marker-grader may be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, or enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.

Qualifications

1. Honours BA, Honours B.Sc or BECE

2. Previous successful teaching experience at the preschool, elementary, secondary, or postsecondary level

3. Experience designing and carrying out research with young children.

4. Having an ECE Diploma or experience in ECE settings is an asset.
