Job description

Job Title

The primary purpose of this position is to provide clerical and organizational support to the EB Specialist by maintaining accurate student records, program documentation, and compliance in accordance to campus, district, and state requirements.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct support to campus EB Specialist as needed.
  2. Provide campus and central office administrators with reports to analyze EB student data.
  3. Prepare required EB documentation for Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) Meetings.
  4. Support the EB screening process as needed, administering oral and written language proficiency assessments, contacting prior Texas districts for records, and support communication with students/families.
  5. Serve on a rotational basis at the EL (English Learner) Testing Center.
  6. Input PEIMS data relating to EBs into district's student management system.
  7. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information according to the Family Education Rights to Privacy Act (FERPA).
  8. Monitor EB student reports for compliance purposes.
  9. Comply with federal, state, and local policies and guidelines relating to EBs.
  10. Assist with auditing EB records.
  11. Run weekly EB error reports and research/correct data.
  12. Attend EB compliance training, as required.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Maintain emotional control under stress of frequent interruptions, multiple tasks, deadlines, and technical problems/delays. Occasional changes in working hours for professional development and other events. Frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, pulling, and pushing; prolonged use of a computer and repetitive hand motions. Occasional lifting over 10 pounds. Inter-district travel required, must have reliable transportation.
