Job description

Adolescent Behavioral Health & Eating Disorders

This is an in-person 1099 contract position supporting adolescents in a residential behavioral health treatment program located in Winter Springs, Florida.

The ideal candidate is seeking supplemental income, private practice expansion, or a second professional opportunity and must be able to maintain a flexible schedule based on client census and program needs.

Current needs are approximately 4โ€“6 hours per week, which may include:

  • Individual nutrition counseling sessions
  • Nutrition education groups
  • Treatment team collaboration
  • Staff and client education

As census increases, additional hours may become available, including up to one full day per week.

Local candidates within a reasonable commuting distance are strongly preferred. Compensation $50โ€“$65 per hour 1099 Independent Contractor Position

About Lotus Behavioral Health

Lotus Behavioral Health provides outpatient and residential treatment for adolescents experiencing substance use and mental health disorders. We integrate medical care, therapy, and nutrition into each client's individualized treatment plan to support whole-person healing and recovery.

Position Summary

Lotus Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Dietitian (RDN/LDN) with a strong understanding of adolescent nutrition, behavioral health, and eating disorders.

The Registered Dietitian will work collaboratively with medical providers, therapists, nursing staff, and residential team members to provide individualized nutrition support, facilitate nutrition-focused groups, and assist adolescents in developing healthy relationships with food and wellness.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Conduct nutritional assessments and develop individualized recommendations
  • Provide one-on-one nutrition counseling to adolescent clients
  • Facilitate engaging nutrition education and wellness groups
  • Support clients experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating behaviors, and nutrition-related concerns
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and residential teams
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings as needed
  • Assist with healthy meal planning and nutrition-related wellness initiatives
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation
  • Communicate appropriately with families and treatment providers regarding nutritional goals and progress
Qualifications
  • Active Florida Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required
  • Active Florida Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) license required
  • Experience working with adolescents strongly preferred
  • Experience treating eating disorders and disordered eating strongly preferred
  • Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, residential treatment, PHP, or IOP settings preferred
  • Experience facilitating psychoeducational or nutrition groups preferred
  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Commitment to trauma-informed and client-centered care
