Job description

Travel Certified Surgical Technologist - Gynecology and Genitourinary

Location: Portland, Maine

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, with a requirement of 1:4 weekends.

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our team specializing in Gynecology and Genitourinary procedures at our Level One Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise as a CST, provide exceptional patient care, and possess the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. The CST will be competent in Robotics (Da Vinci Xi), PCNLs, nephrectomies, ureteral reimplants, hysterectomies, cystectomies, colpocleisis, hysteroscopies, and ureteroscopy. The candidate must be comfortable working with a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in surgical procedures by providing instrumentation and support to surgical teams.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare staff.
  • Handle surgical instruments and ensure availability and cleanliness.
  • Help in the preparation and management of the operating room for procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

  • Minimum of 3 years of Level 1 trauma experience.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
  • Ability to demonstrate expertise in General, GU/GYN, Ortho trauma, neuro surgery, ENT, pediatrics, plastics, and endovascular procedures preferred.
