What is an Easy Tech associate?

Easy Tech associates are retail employees, typically found in office supply stores like Staples, who specialize in providing technical support and product guidance to customers. Their responsibilities include assisting with technology products such as computers, printers, and software, as well as offering basic troubleshooting and repair services. They help customers make informed decisions about tech purchases and may also help with device setup and data transfer. Easy Tech associates combine customer service skills with technical knowledge to enhance the in-store shopping experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Easy Tech associate?

To thrive as an Easy Tech associate, you need a foundational understanding of computer hardware, software troubleshooting, and customer service principles, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, basic networking tools, and device repair software is typically required. Strong communication skills, patience, and a customer-focused attitude help you effectively resolve technical issues and build client trust. These skills and qualities are crucial for providing reliable tech support, driving customer satisfaction, and contributing to store success.

How does the Easy Tech role typically collaborate with other departments in a retail environment?

In a retail setting, Easy Tech team members work closely with sales associates, customer service representatives, and store management to ensure seamless technology support for customers. They often assist sales teams by providing product knowledge, troubleshooting technical issues, and setting up devices, which helps enhance the overall customer experience. Regular communication with inventory and logistics staff is also common to ensure that tech products and accessories are in stock and ready for customer needs. This collaborative environment fosters skill development and opens opportunities for advancement into supervisory or specialized technical positions within the store.

Job description

We are seeking a disciplined, high‐integrity professional who takes pride in doing exceptional work, values accountability, and understands that true excellence requires humility, consistency, and professionalism. This role is for someone who holds themselves to a high standard—regardless of who is watching—and believes that how the work is done matters just as much as the outcome.

As a Managed Service Provider, we are a Strategic Technology Partner delivering comprehensive IT and cybersecurity services to our clients. We take pride in doing things the right way, not the easy way, and we operate with an uncompromising commitment to professionalism, accountability, and excellence in everything we do.

Our culture is built on our Three C’s:

  • Communication
  • Culture
  • Commitment

If those values don’t resonate with you, this role will not be a fit.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a high‐character, high‐competence IT professional who strives for excellence without ego.

This role is for someone who:

  • Takes ownership and accountability
  • Shows humility and professionalism at all times
  • Puts in the work without excuses
  • Solves problems correctly the first time
  • Communicates clearly, respectfully, and professionally
  • Understands that excellence is the expectation — not the exception

This is not a role for someone who “figures it out as they go,” cuts corners, or relies on others to clean up their mistakes.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for delivering and supporting Microsoft‐centric environments across multiple client tenants. As a Strategic technology Partner, we wear many hats... and this role requires flexibility, maturity, and a strong work ethic.

You must be able to confidently handle everything from small support issues through high‐level Level 2 work without supervision or excuses.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Intune, and Microsoft 365 environments
  • Create, edit, and maintain Intune policies, Entra ID policies, compliance policies, configuration profiles, and security baselines
  • Create, update, and manage Microsoft Autopilot profiles and deployments
  • Administer Microsoft 365 across all major services, including:
    • Exchange Admin Center
    • SharePoint Online
    • Teams
    • Licensing and tenant management
  • Design and manage RBAC (Role‐Based Access Control) properly and securely
  • Create and maintain rules, policies, and permissions with precision
  • Support Active Directory and on‐premises servers confidently and correctly without requiring intervention
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly, accurately, and independently
  • Produce clear, detailed documentation for all work, SOPs, tickets, and projects
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and professional notes for every ticket and project
  • Communicate professionally with clients, teammates, and leadership at all times
  • Be willing to do what is required to support clients and the team and without negativity or complaint

Required Experience & Skills (Non‐Negotiable)

Extensive, hands‐on experience with:

  • Microsoft Azure
  • Microsoft Entra ID
  • Microsoft Intune (deep expertise required — not basic familiarity)
  • Microsoft Autopilot
  • Microsoft 365 (all major components)

✅ Demonstrated ability to:

  • Build and modify complex Intune and Entra policies confidently
  • Administer Exchange and SharePoint without supervision
  • Implement and manage RBAC correctly
  • Work independently and solve problems the first time
  • Work together with others as a Team and give credit where it is due

✅ Strong understanding of:

  • Active Directory
  • Local/on‐prem servers
  • MSP environments and client expectations

Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Grammar, punctuation, and clarity matter
  • Professional documentation is mandatory

Professional Expectations

  • Arrives on time, prepared, and engaged
  • Willing to arrive early and stay until the work is complete when necessary
  • No arguing, no talking back, no disrespect — toward management, teammates, or clients
  • No complaining or negativity
  • No excuses — accountability is expected
  • Maintains professionalism in all situations

This Role Is NOT a Fit If You:

  • Believe “good enough” is acceptable
  • Are argumentative or always need to be right
  • Disrespect leadership or coworkers
  • Lack humility or professionalism
  • Rely on others to fix your mistakes
  • Fake experience instead of mastering your craft

Relevant Certifications (Preferred, Not Required)

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD‐102)
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC‐300)
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS‐102)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ‐104)
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ‐305)
  • CISSP, CISM, or CCSP (a plus)

Certifications alone do not replace real‐world experience. Hands‐on expertise is required.
