JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Altoona invites candidates forthe job of Part-Time AssistantSwimmingCoach.The assistant coach reports to the head coach and is responsible for assisting in themanagement of allaspects of the swimmingprogram.

Job DutiesDuties include,but will not be limited to:
  • Coaching in meets.
  • Recruitmentof student athletes.
  • Practice sessions.
  • Assisting withteam fundraising
  • Team travel.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate,and develop Division III student-athletes.
  • Knowledge of the sport and a verifiable ability to teach both fundamentals and strategies of the sportis necessary.
  • This person must possessa commitment to high academic standards, and the NCAA Division III philosophy.
  • A successful candidate will have a reputation for integrity.
  • Applicants must be well versed in the sportand have previous coachingorinstructingexperience.

Penn State Altoona is a member of the NCAA Division III, Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC),and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until position is filled. This is a part-time job.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
