How much do easa engineer jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 10, 2026, the average yearly pay for easa engineer in the United States is $96,970.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $88,000.00 and $110,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an EASA Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an EASA Engineer, you need a solid background in aeronautical engineering, compliance verification, and a deep understanding of EASA Part 21, Part 145, or Part 66 regulations, often supported by an engineering degree. Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software, safety management systems, and relevant EASA certifications is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you excel in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring regulatory compliance. These skills are essential to ensure the safety, airworthiness, and regulatory adherence of aircraft within the European aviation sector.

What is an EASA Engineer?

An EASA Engineer is a professional who is certified or works in accordance with standards set by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). These engineers are responsible for ensuring that aircraft and aviation systems comply with strict safety, design, and maintenance regulations. They may be involved in aircraft design, certification, maintenance, or airworthiness management within the European aviation sector. EASA Engineers often work for airlines, maintenance organizations, or regulatory bodies, and play a crucial role in maintaining aviation safety. Their qualifications and responsibilities are defined by EASA Part 66 and other related regulations.

What is the difference between Easa Engineer vs Aircraft Maintenance Engineer?

AspectEasa EngineerAircraft Maintenance Engineer
CertificationsEASA Part-66 license, type ratingsAircraft Maintenance Engineer license, type ratings
Work EnvironmentDesign, certification, compliance, and oversightMaintenance, repair, and inspection of aircraft
Industry UsageAircraft manufacturers, certification authorities, airlinesAirlines, maintenance organizations, repair stations

While both roles require aircraft-related certifications and work within the aviation industry, Easa Engineers focus on aircraft design, certification, and regulatory compliance, whereas Aircraft Maintenance Engineers handle hands-on maintenance, repairs, and inspections. The roles complement each other in ensuring aircraft safety and airworthiness.

What are the typical challenges EASA Engineers face when ensuring regulatory compliance in aircraft maintenance projects?

EASA Engineers often encounter challenges in interpreting and applying complex regulatory requirements to diverse maintenance projects, especially when integrating new technologies or modifications. They must ensure that all documentation, procedures, and repairs strictly adhere to EASA Part 21 and Part 145 standards, which can require frequent cross-departmental coordination and meticulous attention to detail. Keeping up with evolving regulations and communicating changes to technical and non-technical teams is also a common challenge, but it provides valuable experience in regulatory affairs and project management.
