Job description

Job Description:  Apparel Fit & Quality Specialist

The Apparel Fit & Quality Specialist is responsible for maintaining Earthbound's established apparel fit, sizing, construction, and quality standards across all suppliers and manufacturers.

This role serves as the primary fit and quality gatekeeper for Earthbound apparel. The Apparel Fit & Quality Specialist works closely with the Buyer and suppliers, to evaluate samples, verify measurements, review construction details, approve fit, and communicate corrections to ensure consistency across seasonal assortments.

This position is ideal for someone with strong apparel fit and garment construction knowledge who enjoys problem-solving, collaboration, and attention to detail. The role focuses on maintaining, enforcing and evolving existing standards from suppliers as needed, rather than creating patterns or developing apparel from scratch.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review apparel samples to verify compliance with Earthbound's established fit, sizing, construction, and quality standards.
  • Measure garments against approved specifications and identify areas requiring adjustment.
  • Evaluate selected fit samples from the Buyer, pre-production samples, and top of production samples from the supplier for consistency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate and lead fit sessions on models and fit forms to assess fit, comfort, silhouette, and overall appearance.
  • Communicate fit, measurement, construction, and quality revisions clearly with suppliers.
  • Partner with the Buyer and suppliers to ensure products align with approved specifications and brand expectations.
  • Maintain consistency in sizing and fit across all suppliers.
  • Identify construction, workmanship, and quality concerns and provide recommendations for correction.
  • Support the maintenance and organization of fit standards, measurement guidelines, and construction requirements.
  • Review fabrics, trims, and garment details to ensure compliance with quality expectations.
  • Track sample status, approvals, comments, and follow-up actions throughout the development process.
  • Build and maintain digital fit, measurement, and quality reference libraries.
  • Maintain sample organization by season and launch.
  • Assist with product development projects and process improvements as needed.
  • Maintain productive working relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Perform administrative duties and other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Fashion, Apparel, Product Development, Merchandising, or related field preferred.
  • A bachelor'sdegree in a related field is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of experience in apparel technical design, fit evaluation, product development, quality assurance, or related apparel functions.
  • Experience reviewing garment measurements, fit, and construction details.
  • Working knowledge of apparel fabrics, trims, sewing methods, and garment construction.
  • Experience communicating product corrections and revisions to vendors or suppliers.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator or similar apparel-related software preferred but not required.
  • Ability to review and interpret specification sheets and technical documentation.
