Earth Fare Team Members

At Earth Fare Our Team Members ensure that our customersโ€™ visit to our store is fulfilling, having had all their questions answered and their shopping needs met. We hope that each customer leaves with a sense of having experienced community, knowing that we are excited to see them again soon.

Earth Fareโ€™s Mission is helping people live healthy lives. Our Team Members guide our customers to select not only healthy food they can trust, but products for wellbeing and the household that are held to the same high standards as all of the food on our shelves.

Customer Service Lead (Bookkeeper)

Contributions:

  • Customer Service:

    • Greet customers warmly, address their needs, and answer questions about products and store policies.

  • Transaction Processing:

    • Efficiently operate the POS system to process purchases, returns, and exchanges accurately.

    • Handle various forms of payment including cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payments.

  • Promotions and Discounts:

    • Apply promotional codes and discounts accurately, and inform customers about ongoing sales and special offers.

  • Bagging and Packing:

    • Ensure items are bagged properly to prevent damage, using environmentally friendly practices in line with Earth Fareโ€™s commitment to sustainability.

  • Cash Handling:

    • Maintain accurate cash drawers, manage cash flow, and ensure all transactions are balanced at the end of each shift.

  • Product Knowledge:

    • Stay informed about the natural and organic products sold in the store to assist customers effectively.

  • Bookkeeping:

    • Responsible for reconciliation and recording of cash register drawers and daily balancing of the Cash Office.

    • Communication of cash or paperwork discrepancies, security issues, or customer service opportunities to the Front End Team Leader.

    • Prepares daily bank deposits and change orders and prepares all cash office paperwork.

  • Training:

    • Coaches and trains cashiers on the standard operating procedures for the department.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Previous cash handling and customer service experience required.

  • Previous bookkeeping experience preferred.

  • Earth Fare experience preferred.

Environmental Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Lifting: Up to 10 pounds occasionally (e.g., small grocery items, cash register supplies)

  • Reaching: Frequent reaching at waist level; occasional reaching above shoulder level (e.g., grabbing items from behind the counter)

  • Standing: Prolonged periods (e.g., standing at the cash register for a shift)

  • Pulling/Pushing: Minimal; occasional pushing of small carts or bins with light items
