Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. This rotational professional development program is geared towards ensuring employees in the early stages of their careers gain an understanding of the various functional areas and business units within Colonial Enterprises Inc. as well as building leadership bench strength for our future.
Within the Colonial Explore Program, participants will have the opportunity to gain professional experience in entry-level positions in three to five areas of the company by rotating through a series of jobs. You will be asked to commit to at least three years in the program, each lasting about one year, but may participate up to four or five years in the program based on interests and needs of the participant and company.
This opportunity allows you to combine your classroom knowledge with meaningful work experience. We offer opportunities across Corporate and Operations, designed to complement your formal education. The program allows you to take on increasing levels of responsibility with each rotation. In addition to varied exposure to Colonial's functional areas, all Explore participants will receive valuable mentorship from executive team members throughout their 3+ years in the program.

Summary of Possible Rotation Opportunities:
  • Commercial Affairs - Business Development, Customer Relations, and Enterprise Strategy

  • Legal - Risk, Compliance & Ethics, Right of Way Legal, Information Governance, and Internal Audit

  • Operations - Field Operations, Crisis Management and Response, Right of Way Land Management, Planning & Optimization Terminals, Central Operations, Terminals, and Districts

  • Technical Services - Capital & Field Projects, Engineering Services & Support, and Asset Integrity

Colonial Explore Program Requirements:
  • Recent graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited educational institution.

  • 3.2 GPA overall OR 3.5 GPA in major course area.

  • 3 years or less professional work experience.

  • At least two prior leadership experiences. These can include nonprofit, military, professional, university leadership positions, and/or working while earning degree or student athlete.

Additional Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to multi-task.

  • Strong initiative, willingness to learn and problem solve.

  • Ability to effectively communicate written and verbally with all levels of leadership internally as well as with external customers.

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office package

  • Flexibility to travel on occasion.

  • Have a good attitude about being part of a diversified, multi-cultural team environment.

  • Commitment to consistently adhere to policies and procedures and be a positive example for others by demonstrating the Company's core values of Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Safety, and Excellence in completing work assignments.
