Job description

This position is based in the Firm's global operations center in Tampa, FL.

Description:

The IT Instructional Designer will work with internal stakeholders, project owners, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design, develop, and implement engaging, innovative, relevant, and impactful learning programs. Learning materials will be designed for classroom, virtual, mobile, and eLearning delivery, and includes but is not limited to interactive eLearning modules, short video modules targeted for viewing via mobile devices, topical Quick Reference Guides, user communication, and product video commercials for internal use.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with SMEs or internal team members to design, develop, and implement learning solutions that ensure mastery of learning objectives and learner retention.
  • Support Training Team in the creation and delivery of training courses to include providing guidance on learning objectives and engagement ideas for virtual delivery.
  • Transform ideas regarding requests for courses into engaging and effective learning programs.
  • Able to quickly develop short engaging (5 minute or less) video courses and (1 minute or less) video product commercials.
  • Create storyboards for eLearning courses to include scripts, scenarios, visuals, and interactive elements used to engage and enhance the learner experience.
  • Develop written materials, including but not limited to topical quick reference guides and user communication.
  • Remain current on eLearning and mobile learning training trends and ensure development skills are kept up to date.
  • Establish, influence, and communicate guidelines and recommendations for processes and procedures related to instructional design, content development, and delivery methods.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on presentations to improve instructional delivery.
  • Create and maintain virtual and eLearning course templates to be used by the Training Team.
  • Ensure that all educational materials adhere to design standards.
  • Stay abreast of new instructional design training technologies and products, and advise management of them for potential adoption.
  • Special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience as an Instructional Designer/Developer in a corporate or consulting environment.
  • Previous law firm experience a significant plus.
  • Possess strong language skills and be able to translate complex technology concepts into simple and easy to understand content.
  • Possess a creative approach to learning design that engages target audiences in learning.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), and professional demeanor.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Solid technical skills and ability to work through problems.
  • Proven ability to work independently and/or in a dynamic team setting with SMEs and stakeholders.
  • Experience developing learning content for mobile devices.
  • Skilled in gathering information and insights by interviewing groups and/or individuals.
  • Self-starter who can work independently in setting agendas, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines and effectively prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word (including Styles), Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • Knowledge of virtual training tools such as Adobe Connect, Zoom, and Teams and familiarity with features used to engage learners.
  • Expert knowledge of authoring tools such as Adobe Connect, Captivate, and Camtasia.
  • Knowledge of LMS and SCORM settings.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or an equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience.
  • Certification in eLearning Instructional Design a plus.
